Danielle Fuentes Morgan

Danielle Fuentes Morgan, PhD, is an associate professor in the departments of English and Ethnic Studies at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California. She is the author of the book Laughing to Keep from Dying: African American Satire in the Twenty-First Century. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications including Biography: An Interdisciplinary Quarterly, PRE/TEXT: A Journal of Rhetorical Theory, MOSF Journal of Science Fiction, and College Literature, as well as in a variety of edited collections on African-American literature and culture. She has also contributed to Vulture, Racialicious, and Al Jazeera. She is currently working on a second book about Black millennials and the new popular culture, and is co-editing a volume on African-American humour studies for Oxford University Press. She earned her Bachelor of Arts at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, her Master of Arts in Teaching at Duke, a Master of Arts in English at North Carolina State University, and her PhD at Cornell, and is a proud native of Durham, North Carolina.
