Odysseus is a seasoned creative practitioner, starting out in fashion and focusing in the last seven years on the fine art market, specialising in contemporary African art. As a curator, Odysseus is transdisciplinary. He worked at the Association for Visual Arts, a non-profit art platform that launched the careers of many South African artists. He has also consulted for prestigious art galleries, where he was responsible for curating shows alongside major local and international artists, and has led international expeditions at international art fairs, staging and showcasing contemporary African art to a global market. He is the founder and director of Mikateko Art Consultants, an independent consultancy that focuses on staging art-led events that seek to shift the narrative about Africa and art from Africa in the mediums of contemporary art and fashion.
