T. O. Molefe

T. O. is AFRE’s director of publications. In this role, he serves as editor-in-chief of Moya, stewards AFRE’s new publications, and supports organisational communications and outreach efforts.

Prior to joining AFRE, T. O. spent nearly 15 years as an independent writer and editor, working editorial projects for news media, publishing houses, and international organisations. He has been published in the New York Times, South Africa’s Mail & Guardian, and Africa is a Country, among others, with much of his work focusing on economic and social disparities in post-apartheid South Africa. T. O. is also a researcher, a co-founder of Collective Media Cooperative in Johannesburg, and a Senior Atlantic Fellow for Social and Economic Equity, AFRE’s sister programme based at the International Inequalities Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
