Artist statement
“Using collage, I stitched together and synchronised monochrome and colour excerpts of different moments in the same landscape. My intention was to call attention to the materials used by Ewe people in their daily lives. Spanning multiple West African countries (Nigeria, Benin republic, Ghana, Togo, and Ivory coast), Ewe culture is rich and complex, and embraces multiplicities of being and difference.”
